Win £1000 B&Q Vouchers with The Axmen from The History Channel
Leave the first response July 7, 2008 / Posted in CompetitionsThis is a competition rather than a freebie, but it helps support this fun video from The History Channel. The Axmen starts on 10th July and it’s a documentary series on the “dangerous job in the world” following the lives of four logging crews in North West America. However, there’s a more dangerous job and that’s the job of the Faxmen! Watch the video and see how they struggle day to day with unwanted email, no biscuits and lost word documents.
Then head on over to the official Axmen site and see what real men lose when they’re chopping down trees.
Ah yes, the competition! To celebrate the new Axmen site there’s an opportunity for you to win £1000 of B&Q vouchers. Answer the question to enter the prize draw. Closing date for entries is 2nd October.
The Axmen starts at 9pm on July 10th on The History Channel.

Leave the first response July 4, 2008 / Posted in DownloadsIf you like free music downloads then there’s good news from HMV as they are offering a free mp3 track from Seasick Steve. We’ve never heard of him but apparently he’s wowing festival audiences this summer. You can download his track Roll And Tumble Blues simply by heading over to HMV, who also have tickets to see him in concert up for grabs.
The closing date for the competition is 31st July and we expect the free download offer to enter at around the same time.
Seasick Steve was at Glastonbury and you can get to know him with this NME video:
According to some of the feedback the guy was one of the acts of this year’s Glastonbury!

They run throughout the summer holiday and you can find sessions near you by searching online at the Asda site. It might be worth checking the sessions available first before you jump in the car and head over to Asda. When we checked for Swansea the only sessions available at the moment were for martial arts!

Free £4 to Win Prizes at Bidster Lowest Unique Bid Auctions
1 Comment June 24, 2008 / Posted in CompetitionsBidster is a new lowest bid auction site that gives you the chance to win prizes by bidding what you think will be the lowest unique bid (did that make sense)? The prizes are very nice and range from a Porcshe Boxster right through to an Apple iPhone.
Usually it costs to make a bid, but to encourage you to have a look and get a feel for the site Bidster are offering all new players a £4 sign-on bonus. You can then use your free £4 to try the competitions and if yours is the lowest bid you win the prize! The cheapest pay to play prize draw ticket is £1.50 whilst the car competition is £2 – so use your free money wisely.
On top of this, there’s a couple of free to enter member auctions. There’s £50 of free bids and an iPod Shuffle up for grabs. As a member you get 5 free bids to use each week, but can only use these bids on member auctions. We think, although not 100% sure, that to qualify as a member you must have made a deposit.
Do people win? Well the site does show winners for it’s member’s auctions and also for the paid entry auctions. For example a Macbook Air worth £1199 was won with a winning bid of £4.38 just a few weeks ago.
