According to The BBC Marillion are going to be the latest band to offer their new album for free online. The album titled Happiness is the Road, their 15th in total, will be available via file sharing sites. The official launch day for the new album is the 20th October. As well as the chance to get a free album Marillion are also offering a new song for free and a £5000 prize in a competition.

All you have to do is download the song Whatever is Wrong With You – then use it as the soundtrack to your own video. You’ll then need to upload it to YouTube. Then on December 1st 2008 the video with the most views will win the £5000 cash Grand Prize – it’s that simple. In addition, Marillion will pick their favourite entry for another £5000 cash Spot Prize.

If you know someone who’s a fan of Barbie and Suzanne Shaw then this week’s free download from Woolworths is just perfect for them! The track is called Connected and features ex-Hearsay singer (and newly engaged) Suzanne Shaw. It comes from the movie Barbie and The Diamond Castle!

To get your free download head on over to Woolworths and follow the “free download link” (it’s usually on the right hand side). You’ll then be given a code and told how to get your free track.

Free cinema tickets are always good, even if the film perhaps might not be! Head on over to HMV and you’ll be able to pick up information about how to get free tickets to see Pineapple Express. The film is released in cinemas nationwide on September 12th, rated 15, but you can see it first and free thanks to HMV (what a nice rhyme that is!).

The free screenings take place at selected Vue Cinemas around the country on Monday 8th September at 6pm (for 6.30pm start). Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis, so be quick! However, you might want to take a quick look at the trailer for Pineapple Express and decide whether you’d like to see the film!

The film is from the makers of Superbad, and that possibly is a good description of the trailer. Let’s hope the movie isn’t as bad!
