If you’re a fan of Ugly Betty, Shameless, Father Ted, Peep Show or any other top Channel 4 shows then take a look at Channel 4’s 4oD Service. They have hundreds of hours of TV, films and music to download, you can watch what you want, when you want.

The good news for freebie hunters is that it’s free to download the software to watch 4 on Demand (4oD) and even better you get access to TV shows from the past 30 days free too. There are other shows available for free too (e.g. the 25 years of C4 programmes were free recently), but for films and other programmes you will have to rent them for a small fee (from 99p).

Before you rush off and start searching for Gordon Ramsey or Ugly Better, note that 4oD is only available to UK and Republic of Ireland residents, and those with a Windows XP PC with IE 5.5 or over, Windows Media Player 10 or over and a broadband connection.

It’s also worth nothing that if you have digital television from BT Vision, Tiscali TV or Virgin Media, you can also get 4oD direct to your TV.
